Rap Interiors Gifts £600 for Care Homes to Bring in Singers & Entertainment

Julie Anderson, Design Director, had a lovely morning ringing around our local care homes to inform them that with continued support for the Maidstone Care Homes Gifts for Christmas charity campaign, they were going to be donated an additional £600 each to sponsor a singer or entertainment for the residents of their Care Home.

With our continued commitment to our ‘Let’s bring a sparkle to Maidstone Care Homes Christmas 2020’ campaign we are so happy to continue putting a smile on the faces of the residents and showing our love and support.

Last Christmas, Kent based interior design and fit out company, Rap Interiors combined the power of our network with 3 other Kent based businesses to support the residents and staff at Maidstone Care Homes.

The mission began through the power of social media and finding a Facebook post by Kayte John, who started off with 1 care home, creeping up to 4.  Then Rap Interiors joined and the target moved to 15, with The Gallagher Group and Rift Group joining in and the target raised to 22 care homes.

Our mission was to provide every resident with a present to open at Christmas so they didn’t feel alone over the festive season, without the visits from their families due to the pandemic. The carers of the Maidstone Care Homes would also be thanked for their dedication and hard work, with a hamper full of goodies to share from with additional hampers being sent to Maidstone Hospital too.

Design Director, Julie Anderson and Jan from Rift Group went out to deliver the Christmas presents for the residents, the hampers for the staff and a special gift to all the Care Homes. Many were also presented with a karaoke machine as their special gift.

Every care home was over the moon and thankful for their gifts from businesses who have also had an uncertain year. There were some tears too from the carers who were overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone’s donations.

Due to the success of this campaign and raising over £8,000 in funds, we teamed up with a local singer, Jen Shilling, to perform throughout 2021, to help boost morale of the Care Home residents.  We continued raising funds to support on our mission - to provide a Gift of Song.
