BITA is excited to announce the launch of our new Rail Division, and we are kicking off with a launch event on the 20th September at the wonderful Rotunda Restaurant, Kings Place in London. Thanks to Circet UK and Ireland for sponsoring this exciting event.
We are looking forward to welcoming David Perrotton, who will be moderating a panel discussion with David Clarke from the Rail Industry Association, Simon Morgan from Network Rail, and Richard Logue from PSP.
David Perrotton is a co-founder of Emico Limited. David is at the forefront of setting and implementing project commercial strategy and has overall responsibility for underpinning project performance to facilitate and support a consistent and upward growth trajectory for Emico. He has a background in most M&E sectors, including Infrastructure, Private, Commercial, Process, Pharmaceutical and Petrochemical.
Jeff Davies is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology, working on both client and delivery side of the railway industry at C-level. Whilst at Network Rail in addition to carrying out the role of asset management director and deputy RMD, he was the national representative on the Train Accident Risk Group (TARG) chaired by Railway Safety and Standard Board (RSSB) and principally attended by Train Operating Companies (TOCs), Freight Operating Companies (FOCs), Unions, Office of Rail and Road (ORR) and Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB). He was also a member of the Network Rail CEO's Senior Leaders Group and a Network Rail pension committee member.
Richard Logue has worked in transport projects for over 30 years in both the rail and aviation industries. He has worked on the Thameslink Programme, Heathrow Olympic Delivery, London Underground Fleet Heavy Overhaul and currently on T2 Baggage at Heathrow. He has also been a prominent campaigner for expansion of the rail network on the Island of Ireland and made a major submission to the recently published All Ireland Rail Review. Richard is the Head of Planning at PSP.
Simon Morgan is the Head of Corporate Safety in Network Rail, will also be our keynote speaker! Simon oversees the national standards and controls team, workforce safety team, the NR safety management system, operational safety, track safety research & development (R & D) projects, ergonomics, human factors and safety culture. A mining and minerals processing engineer he worked for contractors and clients firstly in tunnelling and latterly on large project builds such as the King’s Cross Redevelopment Programme.
He Joined NR in 2007 in Capital Delivery and has managed large portfolios as a Capital Delivery Director in the South East Route. In 2019 he joined the Southern regional team as the QHSE director and moved to the Technical Authority as Head of Corporate Safety in 2021.
BITA has always had many members in construction, but our members in rail face very specific challenges so with this event, and the launch of the BITA Rail Division, we are moving to provide more support, advice and networking for the UK rail industry.
This event starts at 2pm in the Battlebridge Restaurant, where we will enjoy delicions canapes, bowl food and drinks, as well as networking with some leading UK rail businesses while you mingle around the room, before moving to the main bar area at 5pm.
