I joined BITA in 2019 after having a chat with Paul Whitnall and Shane Manogue. It was clear that if you wanted to become part of the BITA community, it wasn’t about coming in to sell your service. First and foremost, it’s about getting to know people, looking at ways you can support people, their respective businesses and to trust that the rest would follow, and sure it did and continues to do so today.
With this ethos in mind, BITA really does stand out. I have found the calibre of people attending BITA meetings is very genuine 90% of the time. You have people that genuinely want to get to know more about you, your business and how they might be able to support you.
Since arriving in London in 2015 as a fresh faced 23 year old from County Meath, I joined TARA GAA in West London which showed me the power of the Irish community in London was alive and well, and the opportunities to grow and develop as a person was there.
Work wise, my initial vision was simply that I wanted to work for myself one day. Fast forward two years later and Conquering Business Development was founded in 2017. My vision soon grew into working with companies embedded in the property and construction sector in the UK and Ireland, to drive demand and increase new business opportunities for consultancies, specialist contractors, manufacturers, professional service and solution providers.
My business has grown from a team of one in 2017 to a team of six in 2023.
My mission for 2023 & 2024 is to continue to build solid relationships and trust with Asset Managers, Multidisciplinary Building Consultancies & Tier 1 & 2 Main Contractors in the UK and Ireland.
We work with clients in the UK and Ireland, helping them to generate opportunities and secure new business on both sides of the Irish Sea.
Stephen has a career spanning over 15 years in business development, whilst being trained and mentored by some great business leaders in the UK and Ireland.
Passionate about impacting one person or business at a time, Stephen works with business owners and directors to help them build brand awareness, revenue and ultimately profit.
Stephen holds a master’s degree in Marketing & Entrepreneurship and an honours degree in business management. Stephen has a passion for health, fitness and team sports. He values his family upbringing in Ireland which has taught him the importance of integrity and hard work on the farm from a young age.
