We are delighted to announce the appointment of Helen Downey, Regional Director Ireland at CPC Project Services, to the BITA Rail Board.
Helen brings over 20 years of multi-sector global business experience including Rail, Aviation, Construction, Leisure, and Utilities. A seasoned advisor and transformational leader, she has successfully delivered complex, multidisciplinary programmes—aligning leadership teams, contractors, and stakeholders to drive performance, safety, customer experience, and cultural change.
Her expertise spans strategic change management, leadership development, team integration, and the implementation of scalable frameworks that empower organisations to adapt, grow, and thrive.
Helen returned to Ireland seven years ago after a distinguished career in the UK. She began her journey with the Virgin Group, holding roles at Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Rail, and Virgin Management HQ. Following her time with Virgin, she became an entrepreneur in the UK, founding her own company that delivered complex global programmes. These included launching a learning academy in Nigeria to leading the design and delivery of global initiatives across Asia, Kazakhstan, Russia, and the Middle East.
She has worked with several Train Operating Companies and Airports in the UK and is passionate about enhancing the customer experience.
Currently, Helen is spearheading CPC Project Services’ ambitious growth strategy in Ireland, focused on delivering high-impact solutions that unlock value and support sustainable infrastructure development.
