After finishing college, Shane spent the best part of a decade working as a Civil Engineer on major infrastructure projects across both the UK and Ireland. It was during this time that he developed a passion for technology and began to recognise the meaningful improvements it can bring to a traditionally hands-on industry—when implemented correctly.
For the past 13 years, Shane has been part of the KOREC Group, gaining a deep understanding of the challenges facing sectors that need to map, measure, and manage the built environment. KOREC predominantly employs industry professionals—Civil and Structural engineers, GIS technicians, Surveyors and software developers—who work closely with partners to implement transformative solutions that help organisations work more efficiently and effectively.
Shane believes that just because something is the status quo doesn’t mean there isn’t a better way forward: "People only know what they know. At KOREC, we’re fortunate to work with some top-class clients. We see ourselves as an extension of their team, and that’s a key reason why we've been involved in over 90% of Ireland’s major infrastructure projects over the last 20 years."
