Originally from County Down, Mark moved to Nottingham to study Civil Engineering and started his career with Laing O’Rourke as a graduate in 2008. Over the years, he’s worked his way up through site-based engineering roles and became a Chartered Engineer with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) in 2017.
In 2014, Mark joined the Expanded Structures team within Laing O’Rourke, taking on project management and leadership roles, and building a strong network across the business. One of his recent highlights was leading the team on the £600m re-development of the Olympia Exhibition Centre in Kensington London. He’s now part of the work-winning team, looking at several exciting London projects but with plans to transition back on-site for their delivery which is where he is most at home!
He now lives in Newbury, Berkshire, with his wife and two young kids, aged three and five. When he’s not at work, Mark enjoys following Ulster Rugby and playing hockey for his local club.
