Dermot was born in Tralee, Co Kerry in 1967 and moved to London in November 1989 like so many Irish before him in search of his fortune (and a wife). He fell into doing tax refunds for subbies in Cricklewood, NW2 and has either worked or lived in Cricklewood since. That led him into outsource payroll & compliance for subcontractors in 1997 when he saw legislation was changing and he has specialised in this area ever since. Dermot and his two partners formed Ardent Tide in 2010 and he got more involved in networking and charities as he wanted to combine business with giving back to the community. Having secured a patient and understanding wife, Ruth, whose understanding of networking was that it was more akin to ‘notworking’ he threw himself into such organisations as The Lighthouse Club Construction Charity, The London Irish Construction network (TLICN), The Kerry Association, The West London Irish Society and The British & Irish Trading Alliance (BITA) where he has the pleasant title of vice-president. Dermot enjoys golf and Guinness and is unlikely to turn down any meal offering.
