Negotiation Day with the Isle of Man St Vincent and the Grenadines Education Programme

Tim Cullen's ISEP (Isle of Man - St Vincent and the Grenadines Education Programme) has brought a group of students from St Vincent and the Grenadines to the Isle of Man for a one-off trip for three weeks to expose them to another culture, with an emphasis on heritage, environmental sustainability and practical life skills. The education programme is looking to provide scholarships and travel grants to students in the future, as the charity was set up following an outbreak of Dengue fever, the Covid pandemic, and a volcanic eruption in the Caribbean country. A small group of volunteers in both island nations decided to launch a privately funded initiative to offer 'inspiration and hope to the youth of SVG'.

BITA Isle of Man Board members were amongst the many who attended the reception for the students at Government House on Negotiation Day, sponsored by BITA, where discussions were held on the educational challenges that the students have and will face in attending higher education going forward. Congratulations to Chairman Tim Cullen on this achievement, which is vital for students across the islands to widen their scope. The Isle of Man St Vincent and the Grenadines Education Programme is inspirational, and shows hope for opportunities for the students amidst hardship and so on.
