Halcyon Management Services Ltd has been supplying professional cleaning services to the hospitality industry since 2004, serving the Irish and UK markets from its base in Roscommon.

Strong relationships with its clients identified an opportunity to provide a cooking oil filtration service, addressing a continual problem they were experiencing with commercial cooking oil.

The life span and quality of cooking oil degrades over time and, once it has been contaminated beyond use, usually after three or four days of cooking, standard practice is to replenish fryers with fresh cooking oil and dispose of the used oil in landfill.

Using a cooking oil filtration system however can extend the useful life of the cooking oil by up to 60%, improving the quality of the oil, giving a more consistent food flavour and generating significant cost savings. Prolonging the life also reduces the environmental impact of waste oil disposal in landfill.
